EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a psychotherapy technique that allows individuals to heal from trauma and PTSD symptoms. EMDR helps to address the body, negative beliefs, images, sounds and other sensations that are distressing. For those in the perinatal period, these symptoms are problematic and can greatly impact how you feel about yourself as a person or a parent. EMDR during the perinatal period can be used to help with birth trauma, loss, fertility struggles, sexual abuse, negative hospital experiences such as time in the NICU and more.
